Committee Wanted

At our last Long Term Plan consultation we had a submission to construct a walking track around Primrose Hill. The Ward Committee think that this is a great idea and has other possible routes for walkways as well. It is ready to get the project underway but it needs your help.

In Waihi there is a voluntary group that spends a lot of time and effort building walkways around the town and its environs. They apply for funding from various sources and also do a heap of voluntary work in maintaining the paths. The result is an interesting collection of short and longer walks available for people to use to get fit or just to have some relaxation in quiet surroundings. There is no reason why this could not be replicated in Paeroa.

An initial committee is needed as a steering committee to advise and to decide where such tracks could be established. This may then develop into a more hands-on group if people so choose.

If you would like to be part of such an advisory group please contact Council’s Parks and Reserves Manager, Steve Clark, by calling the Hauraki District Council.
